Youth raped, welcomed 'to world of Aids'

An East Rand man who was told, "Welcome to the world of Aids", after being forced at pistol point to have sex with three women in their 30s, police reported on Tuesday.

Superintendent Andy Pieke said the highly traumatised 18-year-old was told by the women after his ordeal: "Welcome to the world of Aids".

The youth reported the alleged sexual assault to the Tsakane police station commander on Tuesday after an earlier attempt to lay a charge resulted in officers laughing at him and refusing to open a case.

The boy was accompanied by his mother on Tuesday.

Pieke said the teenager told police he was walking through open veld between Tsakane and Duduza on the morning of December 20 when he was beckoned by three women.

The boy went over to the women and was told he must have sex with them.

When the youth refused, one of the women drew a firearm and the boy was forced to take off his trousers.

"He was then ordered to have sex with all three women. The youth claims that after this the women said welcome to the world of Aids," Pieke said.

Officers of the East Rand Sexual Offences Unit were investigating, Pieke added.

Man forced to have sex at gunpoint

Johannesburg: The hunt is on for three women who ambushed a 30-year-old man and forced him to have sex with them at gunpoint.

According to police spokeswoman Paula Nothnagel, a case of indecent assault had been opened and identity kits would be released soon. The man cannot be named because of the nature of the offence.

Nothnagel said that on Saturday night the man was walking through Roodepoort when the women pulled up next to him in their maroon BMW.

They asked him for directions to the Savoy Hotel and he got into the car to show them the way.

At the hotel the women persuaded him to join them for a drink, before asking him for directions to yet another hotel.

While on the road to the Station Hotel the women suddenly changed direction and drove to a dark and empty field near the Durban Deep mine.

"One woman produced a firearm and held the man at gunpoint," Nothnagel said.

"The women got undressed and all three took turns to have intercourse with him."

The man was then ordered back into the car and dropped off along Main Reef Road.

Nothnagel said the man then went home before opening a case at the local police station. The West Rand Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit is investigating. They suspect the women were all aged between 20 and 30.

In a recent case, a 39-year-old father of three was ambushed on his way home from work late at night on the East Rand, near Johannesburg. Three armed women forced him to accompany them to an isolated field near his bus stop. The man was ordered to strip and was then raped by each of the women. The traumatized victim told police one of the women had mocked him with the words: "Welcome to the world of AIDS."

South African men fear being raped by women

In an apparent deliberate attempt to spread AIDS, rape by women is on the rise in South Aftica with a string of rapes reported in recent months.

"Welcome to the world of AIDS" one traumatized victim was told by his female rapist. Another male rape victim was taunted with "You are now infected with AIDS"

Statistics show 5.2 million of South Africa's 47 million people are infected with HIV. One theory of why females are trying to spread AIDS is once learning they are infected, they want to retaliate against those they feel responsible.
